Morning sitting at 07.30; with some of those present not yet having found an approach to this.
Breakfast at 08.00 with Dr. Mike now arrived. Our Inaugural Meeting is at 10.00.
13.52 Inaugural Meeting to a full ballroom.
Those present introduced themselves saying who they are, where they come from, what brought them here & their am for this course. My aim: to prepare the work of The Guitar Circle.
Intermediates in Boardroom & Beginners in Ballroom with Robert at 11.15.
Beginners: we began by bringing part of the attention to the soles of the feet;
then to the top of the head;
then to what is in between;
to what is in front of us;
to what is behind us;
to what is above us;
to what is below;
then returning to the soles of the feet, the head, and what is in between.
The initial notes of choice did not quite catch fire. Moving to beginning-circulating, not quite remembering the notes of those on either side of us, but not forgetting them as our friends.
The first calisthenic / technical matter approached, and for the first time on a Guitar Craft Course: the Right Hand & holding the pick. Then to the First Primary, addressing the left hand.
Ending on three large chords upon direction.
Catching up with Dr. Mike before lunch.
Lunch at 13.00 with observations & comments, and one question: when we’ve lost our way in the pattern, what strategy may we employ? The question was directed towards Fernando the Wise who replied: Count.
18.48 Meeting with a quorum of the SSG IV at 15.30.
Tea at 16.00. The question was asked: how best shall we use our time before dinner? The consensus: Intermediates with Robert in the ballroom & Beginners with Leo in he Boardroom, both at 17.00.
The Intermediates circulated & moved into B flat major & then G natural minor, looking at various voices of chords within that scale.
T’ai chi at 18.30 is underway in the Mosquito Grove.
20.10 Various comments at dinner. A consensus emerged for this evening of a House Of Guitars. The consensus was determined by Fernando; and nobody disputed Fernando’s view of the consensus.
